The Boeing Company is currently seeking Simulation Lab Software Engineers (Level 2) to join the Advanced Programs Flight Simulation Labs team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

If you come to work with us you will be responsible for full life-cycle software development which means you will have a hand in defining the requirements; designing, implementing and testing software; and supporting these products through delivery and in the field:

  • Software development for modeling, simulating, testing, and/or analysis using C++, C#, Python, Windows, and Linux

  • Working with customers and other engineers to define requirements, such as understanding and agreeing upon the function of the software system

  • Architect and designing software to meet current and future requirements

  • Implementing software using a variety of technologies and implementation software languages

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for simulation and lab software

  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional system

  • Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software requirements are met

  • Supports software project management and software supplier management functions

  • Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics

  • Performs software research and trade studies

  • Troubleshoots software issues

  • Works under general supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in a technical field of study

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years of experience with C, C++, C#, or Java

  • 3 or more years working in an Agile software development framework

  • 3 or more years of experience with real-time software development

  • Familiar working with and/or developing software requirements/test methodology

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master)

  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard


Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.


This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
