Siemens Sr Human Resources Business Partner in Beltsville, Maryland

Position Overview

As a trusted partner to the SI RSS-AM (Smart Infrastructure Regional Solutions and Service) Atlantic Zone field business and a member of the Siemens Human Resources Business Partner team, brings deep insight, an independent viewpoint and HR expertise to business issues. Consults with and influences field leadership to take actions on emerging people related topics. Translates business requirements into human capital imperatives and utilizes the full value chain of HR to derive relevant HR solutions to meet the evolving needs of the business. Plays a key role in orchestrating and facilitating changes to organizational culture, design and structure.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business and its strategy, be an active part of the decision making process across all facets of the Zone (sales, service, support functions, etc.)

  • Understand the external world and its implications on the business and people strategy (industries, markets, customers, HR, people practices etc.) – “bring the outside in”

  • Provide the local perspective of business needs and requirements to HR at all levels

  • Ensure implementation of U.S. and Global HR Strategy (as applicable) in alignment with local needs

  • Develop and communicate the local People Strategy and translate it into HR goals and actions

  • Lead or contribute to the implementation of HR programs and initiatives for assigned Zone

  • Partner with leadership teams at relevant levels to drive performance and build organizational capability

  • Coach and enable executives to be more effective leaders

  • Identify needs for change management and champion related activities

  • Drive discussions related to workforce and organization design changes and provide recommendations

  • Partnering with business leaders to actively analyze and drive cultural change in line with business strategy

  • Enable local business to develop a diverse, robust talent pipeline

  • Guide the business on the appropriate HR programs, processes, and policies based on the business environment / strategy

  • Orchestrate and connect business with experts across the HR value chain to develop new or leverage existing solutions

  • Advise managers on organizational changes (incl. RIFs)

  • Talent Management / Development / Identification (SRM & People Agenda)

  • Participate in Labor Relations and Negotiations as assigned and required

  • Support and participate interviewing for Senior Management and Key Critical Roles

  • Review Engagement Survey Results with business partners and provide coaching & guidance on action items

  • Keep an overall pulse of the organization

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Organizational Development a plus.

  • Minimum of 8 years of human resources generalist experience demonstrating a working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including employee relations, labor relations, performance management, and management consultation.

  • PHR/SPHR certification is preferred.

  • The ability to be flexible, self-directed, motivated and able to interact with employees at all levels and across multiple locations.

  • Strong oral and written communication.

  • The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and gain reputation as trusted advisor and business partner.

  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects or tasks while effectively prioritizing to meet deadlines in an ever changing, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to successful drive change in the organization

  • Must possess above average proficiency in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Proven ability to research and analyze information

  • Ability to use data and information to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standard, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or government law.

  • The proven ability to demonstrate leadership skills, professionalism and team attitude.

  • Prior experience working in a matrixed environment a plus.

  • There will be 20%-30% travel associated with this position long-term with potentially up to 40% at the beginining. (once it is safe to travel)
