Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer 2 in Bellevue, Washington

We are the Multimedia Search team in Microsoft Bing. Bing Multimedia Search empowers millions of customers with best-in-class image and video search experience that spans across desktop to mobile, camera to cloud. We are building many new features into the product the enables users to conduct & manage their multi-day, multi-session search session tasks. Our mission is to empower users to quickly and delightfully get their search tasks completed on any device!

We are looking for an experienced software engineer who would like to work in this fun and fast paced environment, solve hard problems whose solutions benefit millions of users!


Responsibilities for this job include, but not limited to:

  • Features: Designing and implement features for Bing Multimedia Search production+support services

  • Fundamentals: investigate and fix product defects, LiveSite support, complete DevOps responsibilities.

  • Integrate ML models into your services with feedback loops to make models and services perform better.

  • Ensure seamless horizontal integration with other peer, consuming and consumed services within the product stack.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years software development/engineering experience consisting of design, coding, troubleshooting.

  • 3+ years programming in languages like C#, C/C++, Java and modern web-based technologies like JS/TypeScript.

Preferred Qualifications:

Below are some additional qualifications that can help in one's success in this role but are not required:

  • Full stack development experience from frontend through backend

  • Experiences in engineering cloud-based ML/AI services

  • Ability to solve problem-solving and ramp up in new areas with minimal help
