The Room Service Order Taker / Cashier is responsible for taking all guests' R/S orders, communicating them to the servers and working to expedite their service; performing all control and revenue related paperwork.
Responsible to answer the phone within three rings.
Take orders for guests.
Must follow prepared scenario to encourage upselling.
Give the approximate time of delivery for the order.
Prepare payment of checks.
Knowledge of food menu and wine list.
Know and adhere to all liability laws.
Printing of reports at the end of the shift and banking out.
Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions.
HOTEL SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Complete other duties assigned.
Coffee maker/urn, toaster, microwave, beverage machines, bus trays, dishware, silverware, glassware, queen-mary cart, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine
Walk-in refrigerator, Room Service tables, hot box
Interior of hotel, in the restaurant, kitchen and guestroom. Exposure to extreme temperatures.
Exposure to Food and Beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.
Exposure to food items and beverages.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years restaurant experience.
Good food and service knowledge.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to read, write and speak clearly and accurately in English.
