Purpose This position provides administrative support to management on the ED Billing Team. This position also shares the Receptionist role. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Training new staff in the clerical role 2. Auditing the new clerical staff during their transition to working independently 3. Receptionist duties: - Greeting and directing visitors in a cordial, professional and appropriate manner upon arrival - Handling the package delivery/submission - Assist visitors creating temporary security cards - Answer questions when able and redirect to appropriate employee when not able to answer - Professional dress required for this role 4. Callback program 5. Entering claims into electronic database for secondary claim submission 6. Assisting Management with various clerical projects 7. Restore supplies to those on the team as needed Required Amount of Experience: Prior Billing Department Clerical/Reception experience required. This position requires the applicant to be professional for forward facing receptionist coverage as well as attention to detail for higher level clerical duties. Additional responsibilities will include a higher level of clerical duties. Required Skills: Prior MS Office experience, including proficiency with Excel and Word, and internet software experience required. Ability to add, to subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; this ability will encompass using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
