Hill-Rom Sr Manager, Incentive Compensation and Sales Deployment- REMOTE U.S near Hillrom offices in Batesville, Indiana

As the Sr Manager, Incentive Compensation and Sales Deployment, you will lead of team of 6 responsible for the development, implementation, management, and analysis of sales compensation plans across all global business units (GBUs) in the US and Canada. Reporting into the Exec Director, Commercial Operations, this role will act as a sales compensation strategic business partner for our five business units.

This position may be REMOTE but must be located within a reasonable commute to one of the Hillrom offices in Chicago, IL, Batesville,IN, Skaneateles Falls, NY, Raleigh area, NC, Cary, NC or Charleston, SC

Role Description:

  • Establish strategic direction with sales leadership and finance to align team goals / annual operating income

  • Develop and manage consistent compensation calendar across GBUs

  • Liaison between sales, HR, finance and legal to develop and implement compensation handbooks

  • Build and drive performance metrics to provide timely updates to team attainment, year over year/quarter over quarter trending, effectiveness of plan vs activity, industry competitiveness, progress to individual and team goals, what-if analyses, etc.

  • Create dashboards for real-time comp/commissions review

  • Establish regular communication with senior leaders to provide feedback and identify opportunities and with the variable comp council

  • Serve as US Commissions lead, Global Commissions partner

  • Drive identification and implementation of unified commissions system

  • Oversee administration of commissions and bonus payouts

  • Sales / Territory Deployment – lead team to drive cross-BU territory management and sales deployment

  • Work with sales leadership to provide analytics/feedback on territory alignment opportunities

  • Identify territory trends and consult with senior leadership on sales deployment strategy

  • Develop analytics to deliver real-time deployment scenario

  • Review and track trends on territory success

  • Oversee commission system set-up and expenses; ensure processes are in place to manage discrepancies, issues and solutions.

  • Serve as consultant to translate business requirements into processes or technical systems solutions, working with developers to ensure their design follows Hillrom standards. Utilize tools to deliver appropriate solutions and stream line processes.

  • Oversee the team responsible for the following activities:

  • Review open order changes to ensure proper commission payment is reconciled.

  • Create both custom and standardized reports utilizing Cognos and/or Microsoft Access.

  • Review field goal attainment and calculate complex bonus payments, including bonus accruals throughout the year.

  • Solve problems through commission reconciliation, and/or correcting billing errors related to sales orders, communicating with customer service departments to prevent similar errors in the future.

  • Analyze commission expense trends by product and take action to address and or notify management when necessary.

  • Be actively involved in department continuous improvement projects by identifying areas of improvement, working on a project team or leading a project.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors required, MBA preferred.

  • 10 years business operations experience, including experience managing a team

  • At least four years of compensation management experience, including sales compensation program management.

  • Familiarity in compensation programs such as Xactly Incent, QCommissions, etc. and territory management software such as Alignstar

  • Effective planning and program management skills

  • Confidence in providing feedback to internal stakeholders

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills – ability to understand key strategic and tactical issues and develop solutions that will support measurement

  • Self-motivated and ability to manage multiple projects with minimal oversight

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS Teams and a mastery level knowledge of Excel

  • Knowledge of IBM Cognos reporting and database management

  • Effective planning and program management
