PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The role is responsible for driving Innovation/Renovation and Technical tramling programs from a perspective of sourcing connect. The role looks at creating a network of vendors who will operate as Innovation and Productivity Business Partners and work towards alignment with USL's overall cost agenda, suggest/implement new ideas to bring down the cost of PM, implement new concepts in the area of Printing/Packaging and provide support in NPD and reprographic work.
Technical Tramlining Pipeline of 150 Crs over 3 years.
Innovation projects COGS management within GM tramlining measures

Liquid Technical .
Marketing, Sales, RPC teams,Finance, EMD, Legal, CRRM / PM suppliers, Agencies, Diageo Global.
TYPICAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification: Graduate degree in any of the Technical fields (Packaging, Chemistry or Engineering). Master's degree in Engineering or Science or MBA is desired.
Experience: Innovation/Renovation/Productivity work experience of about 5 years in FMCG or related industry. Experience in sourcing of packaging materials, in addition to packaging development
Knowledge & skills:
Excellent MS Excel skills
Excellent data management skills
Ability to build good relationship with people
Should have in-depth knowledge of various printing reproduction processes including UV offset,Flexography & Gravure Printing
Updated with new innovations in packaging in FMCG and related industry
Good understanding of Packaging Components & relevant information on drivers for the category

Ensure development of new vendors
Steer implementation of new packaging
Provide guidance in the roll-out of brands with new packaging• Adherence to budgets

- New Vendor & Supplier Development
Design and develop the process of empanelling new vendors based on their capability, process orientation and infrastructure alongside the commercial consideration
Steer co-ordination with the Brand Team and Innovation Commercialization Team for the onsite trail commercial runs.
Guide and manage supplier audits for packaging and liquid components to determine supplier’s capability to supply materials fit for USL needs.
Ensure reduction in the risk of packaging component failure through effective risk assessment and management of packaging/liquid components via appropriate qualification processes.
Review and govern Supplier performance quarterly(SPM) in alignment with procurement for improvements
Ensure robust supplier managementto improve on current processes and qualify components within specification
Take accountability for sufficiency of funnel to meet future ambition plan.
Manage effectiveness of execution i.e. First Time Right, Meeting G5 objectives post launch and delivering on Innovation/Renovation PnL (NSV, GM)
Build the Innovation/Renovation business system and world class commercialization capabilities.
Lead Strategic Supplier identification from Innovation/Renovation point of view and work closely on Projects
Lead initiatives for vendor Capability Development

Work closely with Technical project lead for project formulation & ensuring project progress.% Misses (Time, Budget and resource)
Organise ,action and inform through Project Kick off, Financial Kick Off, Technical Kick off, Risk assessment meetings in additionto weekly project meetings.Planned V/s Actual
- Process adherence
- Keeping Diageo India ready for Internal audit on projects.Audit non-conformance %.
- Write off Management
- Actively engage and use right 'tools' to manage write off by closely working with supply planner, sourcing , units and regional demand teams.Maintain write-off with in approved limits.
