In this role, you have the opportunity to:

You will be part of Image Acquisition Platform (IAP), where we will transform our software organizations into a common part governed by DI and Business specific organizations. This common Image Acquisition Platform organization will have clear Software, PMO and architectural guidance. This enables to drive from 8 towards 1 software stack for all DI products.

Image Acquisition Platforms serves as a platform innovation organization strongly connected to PD innovation delivering to all the DI businesses and will act as a cost center funded by the DI businesses.

The Image Acquisition Software architecture consists of a Modality Specific Acquisition modules and a common Image Acquisition Platform.

All Image Acquisition Platform teams will move into Image Acquisition Platform organization. The Modality Specific Acquisition teams will be part of the business R&D teams. It is critical to keep an integral business connection. This is done via:

PMO Image Acquisition Platform:

To ensure program alignment between the businesses and the Image Acquisition Platform organization. For each business a Program Manager Business Partner will be allocated that participates also in the business and is responsible for creating and execution of the roadmap for the business (releases, levels, service packs).

Software Architecture Image Acquisition Platform:

To own the Image Acquisition Software Reference Architecture and related interface management and make sure this is adhered to. This teams works closely with the business software architects.

Software R&D Leadership:

To ensure we are fully connected and take an integral approach, all business software leaders will be double hatting to the business R&D leaders and to the Software Image Acquisition Platform organization.

You are responsible for:

  • Defines architecture strategy, balancing long- and short-term views and balancing conflicting requirements (e.g. security vs. performance)

  • Works with stakeholders to develop the architectural runway and spikes in support of new business features and capabilities

  • Works with teams, customers, suppliers, software leaders and product and solution management to define and design at high-level a solution / platform (incl. solution / platform intent, information models, and documentation requirements) and ensures fitness of purpose by focusing on consumer needs and technological competitiveness

  • Delivers an optimal and consolidated architecture / design, leveraging technology and evaluating design alternatives including cost benefit analysis

  • Establishes and communicates critical high-level functional and nonfunctional requirements. Owns implementation of non-functional requirements in area of responsibility

  • Ensures good and up to date documentation of the architecture and implementation thereof and responsible for overall solutions / product quality

  • Influences and drives an accepted implementation of architecture

  • Collaborates with and coaches agile teams to take and implement the appropriate system/items/units design decisions balancing applying emergent design with intentional architecture (e.g. in inspect and adapt workshops)

  • Drives software craftsmanship

  • Experience as (Cloud) Architect in Big Data Analytics

  • Experienced in data engineering, data science, AI/ML and NLP

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as QlikView or equivalent tools

  • Proficiency in using query languages, such as SQL, PL/SQL

  • Hands on experience in the one or more databases like Hadoop, AWS Redshift, Snowflake etc
