Key Areas of Responsibilities
Lead the compute platform architecture spanning across PC HW, OS, Security and Virtualization working closely with multiple BU experts and drive solutions catering to their business needs.
Develop in depth knowledge on various compute platforms across BUs, working closely with the architects, POs of different BUs.
Define & lead the technology roadmap for compute platform (PC, OS & Security) aligning business needs with the current & future trends.
Lead & drive standardization in the compute platform, leveraging the commonality in the requirements across businesses, resulting in cost optimization in BOM and supply chain.
Have a clear understanding on the vendor landscape in this space and engages in technical discussions with vendors driving the choices for businesses bringing in standardization in supply chain & cost optimization.
Has in depth understanding of the complete stack (HW-Virtualization-OS-Security) and the influence of each other.
Has in depth understanding of OS internals & Product Security to carry out work in these topics i.e. security configurations/hardening
Has strong focus in optimization and drives efficiency bringing in automation in the realization steps & release activities.
Has in depth understanding to create architectural artefacts that scale, which is easy to understand by stakeholders yet with the right level of details.
Has a good understanding on Security and cyber security landscape and how it impacts the systems collaborating with external stakeholders – Security CoE.
Supports Integral and/or R&D Program Manager with planning and budget.
Estimates own and team work and defines worked-out scenarios to optimize a plan.
Lead end to end deep dives/reviews of architecture, deployment and operational components, identifying risk scenarios to be accounted for during the engineering lifecycle.
Reviews detailed design and critical artefacts from team.
Lead risk management, feature integration, sub-system verification and defect management activities.
Responsible for quality and stability of the platform in the install base.
Responsible for bringing in continuous improvements in release quality, release efficiency and cost efficiency.
Obtains and maintains internal and external network for knowledge build-up.
Establish long-term directions for technologies and methodologies including tools used during design phase.
Establish a strong technical organization and sustain it with highest level of competency.
Assist management team in identifying current and future competency needs of the team
Hire, coach and mentor other architects & team members in the R&D teams.
Collaborate across all cross functions and with customers to deliver solutions that grows business + improves customer satisfaction.
Represent the platform team in specific forums and on select initiatives – internal and external to Philips Healthcare.
Since our strategy is to outsource the (detailed) design and engineering activities to our suppliers, we require excellent communication skills to be the technical contact towards our design partners and/or suppliers. This includes together with our supplier (but each with his own responsibility and ownership) the alignment of requirements, test approach, design reviews, FMEA, and specifying and verifying quality and reliability whilst maintaining a good & challenging professional relationship.
Should have a Master degree in Computers or Electronics engineering or other relevant discipline
15+ years of experience and knowledge of system development, knowledge of HW/SW interfaces, OS internals
Experience and knowledge of computer architecture and the required computer performance for our different software solutions.
Experience with development in volume production and maintenance of released products.
In depth knowledge and experience in Linux & Windows operating systems, installation, configuration, customization
Scripting knowledge (like VB script, PowerShell and CMD-line)
Knowledge about security, firewall configuration etc.
Knowledge and understanding of other disciplines with which co-operation takes place.
Should have played this role recently in delivering solutions to Markets.
Experience in deploying suitable quality analysis & improvement tools for the development teams.
Shall have good knowledge of EMI/EMC certifications standards
Experience in healthcare domain. Shall have experience in creating DHF and DMR records for medical systems.
Experience working with Scaled Agile.
