Worldwide Booking Operations Team – Our Mission:
Based in 5 global locations, the Worldwide Booking Operations team is responsible for processing the purchase orders from our customers and partners worldwide. We ensure revenue integrity through timely, predictable and precise execution. As we work across all geographical regions and handle many different order types, we focus on simplification and standardization to achieve operational excellence. The Director, Global Order Management is directly accountable for the organizational performance of global delivery centers within the Order to fulfillment domain.
This is a multi-functional PS order management role. The ideal candidate should demonstrate expert knowledge in all aspects of global order management and revenue operations and have solid experience/knowledge in Oracle/SAP order management or Professional service, contract modules with direct decision making responsibility on the success of optimizing processes, define and build key measurement systems, increased productivity, driving process improvements & shared services initiatives globally, project management and build flexible business model to maximize business results for Order to fulfillment operations delivery centres.
The primary focus of this position is to lead a large organization of 20 plus people in global delivery centers responsible for all aspects of VMware’s PS order management and revenue operations for Professional services business
Orchestrate system enhancement, six sigma projects and manage prioritization, development, delivery and execution of new applications, system enhancements and technology implementation through global integrated efforts thereby minimizing cost and complexity
Establish goals and policies, manage multiple center budgets and direct the global order management team to deliver on business commitments
Build and maintain relationship and work closely with the cross regional internal business partners and stakeholders in multiple delivery centers focused on improving overall revenue operations systems, processes and quality
Maximize the operational teams’ focus on Customer-Centricity, Quality, Operational Excellence, and Continuous Improvement
Establish, execute, and optimize operational strategies and deliverable's, metrics and processes that drive the day-to-day operations of PS
Build strong understanding of the PS business, workflow and establish relationships with the regional Ops, GTM, PS Sales and Delivery teams
Develop framework & sustain strategic partnership with External business partners to work toward shared objectives of ease of doing business
Drive all aspects of performance acceleration process and people program strategy with the focus on organizational scalability and operational excellence
Define and drive solid business continuity plan that eliminates revenue risks for the organization
Provide Guidance and Support to the Order operations managers and center leads to ensure consistency and cross centers alignment
Ensure all teams are aware of and aligned to compliance guidelines and internal policies and procedures including SOX, revenue recognition and Trade Compliance; support internal and external audits
In cooperation with the Global Process Owner, to define, implement and communicate global standards for all Order Management processes in line with industry best practices
Define, communicate and implement project strategies and initiatives focused on process efficiency, revenue integrity and customer experience
10+ years of software industry experience, in a global operational environment.
Expert knowledge of software quote to cash domain in a direct and channel sales model
Proven track record in managing multiple delivery centres with 24X5 support model
Experience in managing multiple vendors to drive cost effective hiring strategies
Expert knowledge of policies and procedures as it impacts the overall order management process
Experience in managing SaaS business would be preferred
Solid understanding of quote to cash systems & policies, including upstream and downstream impact/activity
Excellent leadership skills and the ability to inspire team with clear vision and purpose to achieve desired results
Exceptional communication skills at all levels, organizational focus with the ability to represent the team and collaborate with both customers and internal stakeholders
Demonstrated management practices to build consensus and resolve conflicts
Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters in Business administration a plus
Experience in a direct/channel sales model, with firm knowledge of software license transactions and Software as a Service
Experience in working across global teams and a solid understanding of cross-cultural aspects
Oracle E-Business Systems experience
Business system analytics and project management experience
10+ years’ experience in Operations within a software or a services company
Professional Services knowledge that includes customer need, business/engagement model, booking, billing, and revenue recognition
Ability to effectively communicate, lead, and manage transformation based on a clear end-state vision
Strong organizational building skills and a proven track record of leading change
