Job Duties:Responsible for providing direct advanced respiratory clinical care and special procedures; back up shift leader coverage; and support to advanced practices and respiratory initiatives, and as directed by the dept director. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: superuser for new equipment; maintains competency in all intensive care units including neonatal ICU and for all age ranges, including, not limited to: emergency room; Rapid Response Team, Trauma Team, and Code Team; LMA skills support. Has a primary focus on high acuity patients, low volume/high risk procedures, and advanced respiratory assessments. Other projects and duties per dept director identified annually.

7:00am-3:30pm (combination of 8 & 12 hr shifts)

Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy or closely related field is required. Must be a graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required. Must have and maintain an active respiratory care practitioner (RCP) license by the Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance. Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required. Must maintain current AHA BLS and ACLS during employment. NRP required within 3 months of hire; PALS & NPS is highly desirable. Bachelors degree in respiratory therapy or closely related field is required.
Minimum of 3 years experience (more preferred). Must have demonstrated superior clinical assessment skills and background with competencies in varied critical care settings, including neonatal intensive care. Experience with special advanced practice procedures and projects is strongly preferred. Strong analytical skills to resolve problems is required. Must demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including oral, written, and collaboration skills. Excellent computer skills required. Microsoft applications, including, not limited to Word, Excel, Powerpoint highly desired.
