TEKsystems Business Analyst in Baltimore, Maryland
Our client is looking for a Business Analyst to join their Data/Application Development team. This team currently consists 2 Application Developers, a Product Owner, a QA member a Data Architect, and an ETL Developer. This position is a new opening on the team and this person will be doing is a lot of in the systems ticket distribution and organization. The current ticketing system they are using is JIRA. They are going to be learning the system, working hand in hand with the technical team getting the vision of tickets and projects that they need to build. The ticket creation process is formalized and they are going to be high quality tickets. This person will be gathering requirements from data architects and who ever else works with the data team and translating that into high quality tickets. This person will also be responsible for reporting for the executive director. Below are the 30, 60, 90, 180, and 365 day expectations!
30 days: Awareness of all open requests. Have basic understanding of reporting needs for each project.
60 days: Maintain documentation and meeting notes for project deliverables. Independently write requirements and use cases. Collect project impact stats at the end of each project.
90 days: Full ownership of maintaining project backlogs. Guide request process from conception to release. Communicate and plan delivery of requests in weekly team meetings.
180 days: Facilitate work done between request and delivery teams. Responsible for making sure request and delivery teams meet the expectations of stakeholders.
365 days: Advise, organize, and plan the Integrations scrum team product backlog. Oversee the development process leading up to the release date and define all post-deployment tasks needed to complete each request. Establish repeatable processes to keep pulse on closed projects.

Top Skills Details:
Ability to communicate with multiple teams and people within the organization (This person will be working with Developers up to C-level Executives so being comfortable communicating and working with multiple teams is critical!)
Understanding Ticketing systems (JIRA would be preferred) and being able to organize and distribute high quality tickets
SQL experience - (What is SQL? What does it do? Give an example of a query and how you would write it?)
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
IT skills/experience with tools that would be preferred: Qliksense, Qlikview, Thoughtspot, Tableau, Amazon Web Services (AWS), RedShift, signup application projects, API integration projects, customer data platform (CDP) projects
Previous experience communicating with technical teams on data architecture
Previous experience in data governance initiatives
Understanding of basic database fundamentals.
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity working in Agile software development.
Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non--technical audiences.
