Philips DevOps Engineer in Böblingen, Germany


In this role, you have the opportunity to work in an agile work environment for a prosperous business on the design and development of a modern solution approach for patient monitoring systems for worldwide markets.

You will be part of our Test-Automation Team developing tools to support testing of our patient monitoring software platform which is used by various products across our product portfolio.

This is a part time position.

You are responsible for

  • Analyzing current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them

  • Understanding the needs of stakeholders and establishing milestones for necessary contributions from other departments

  • Working with software engineers within the company to ensure high quality software development following established processes

  • Designing and developing software solutions to further extend our test capabilities

  • Build and setup new infrastructure for development and test teams

  • Setting up and supporting continuous integration and deployment pipelines

You are a part of the SW-Test-Automation team responsible for providing tools ensuring an automated execution of our test-cases. Our tools are used world-wide across the business. The position is located in Böblingen. We develop and produce patient monitoring solutions for a worldwide market. Our products are used in emergency and intensive care, pregnancy and neonatal monitoring, as well as for anesthesia.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master/ Diploma/ Bachelor in Software Engineering, Technical Engineering or a comparable qualification

  • Fluent in English and German

  • Excellent teamworking, communication and documentation skills

  • Awareness of DevOps and Agile principles

  • Self-development skills to keep up to date with fast-changing trends

  • Proficiency in a high-level language like Python, Go, C++, C#, Java

  • Proficiency in Git, Embedded Linux

  • Familiar with Concepts like Behavior Driven Development (BDD), Gherkin, Test-Driven-Development (TDD), Test Pyramid

  • Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible

  • Familiar with Yocto
