Merck Senior Messaging Specialist, Engineering Development and Integration in Austin, Texas

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing innovation, adoption and ongoing operational support for the Office 365 platform as used across our company, including analysis of new and existing services and solutions.

  • Drive change and innovation for Exchange/Office 365 operational solutions across our company on a day to day basis.

  • Provide advice to managers and other staff in the development of practical solutions to difficult problems.

  • Ensure consistency for operational processes, including incident, problem, change, release management and disaster recovery/business continuity.

  • Contribute to internal and external communications as they relate to O365 architecture, performance, capacity, and capabilities to support our business processes.

  • Provide and analyze data for management reporting and metrics.

  • Research and provide guidance on new technology solutions focusing on increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of our company business and educational processes.

  • Design, develop and support technology solutions that integrate ancillary tools with core enterprise systems in order to enhance the value and services to clients.

  • Develop and implement scripts and utilities to automate system and application administration and maintenance tasks.

  • Part-time local telecommuting permitted.

Education Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Management or Science. (In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept 2 years of work experience.)

Required Experience and Skills

  • 10 years of experience providing engineering support in the Microsoft Exchange environment. (12 years if no Bachelor’s degree)

  • 10 years of experience in: Exchange/Office 365 design, implementation and administration support; Power Shell Scripting; designing, configuring, supporting and maintaining Microsoft Exchange 2010, 2013 or 2016; exchange architectural including CAS, Hub, transports, mailbox servers and DAGs; engaging vendors of applications and systems to assist with best practice implementations and troubleshooting; design of disaster recovery and business continuity planning and implementation; collaborating with the various systems engineers to maintain current, stable and highly available systems architecture. (12 years if no Bachelor’s degree)

  • 5 years of experience working in a regulated environment within the pharmaceutical industry. (7 years if no Bachelor’s degree)

  • Must have MCSA and MCP Certifications.

  • In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept 2 years of work experience.
