VMware Senior Manager, eCommerce Growth in Austin, Texas

The eCommerce team at VMware is responsible for direct sales of software, subscriptions, and service & support via the VMware Online Store. We are at an exciting stage of growth and team development and are looking to add a talented, customer-obsessed Senior Manager of eCommerce Growth to drive customer acquisition through direct digital channels. Reporting directly to the Sr Director of WW eCommerce, you will be a thought leader in your field with broad experience in eCommerce, SaaS, Digital Marketing and Online Sales.

Job Description

As a Sr Manager of eCommerce Growth you will have the opportunity to use your expert understanding of web analytics (preferably GA) to monitor VMware’s eCommerce site, campaign and platform performance. You will foster and lead a culture of structured and programmatic experimentation using Test & Learn, CRO and Agile methodologies to drive ideation, prioritization, and implementation of tests to improve customer experience and grow eCommerce KPIs. You will constantly work to create and execute on innovative revenue growth strategies to improve eCommerce performance. The Sr Manger will own relationships with resources across our agency partners, internal teams, and internal stakeholders.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • You will be accountable for achieving revenue, user acquisition and profitability targets.

  • Serve as Product Owner for Growth, and lead CRO/DXO program through cross-functional v-team.

  • Work with PjM/ Scrum Master to quantify & prioritize projects, campaigns and initiatives.

  • Monitor metrics and performance; understand the drivers of the business and identify trends.

  • Provide regular forecast updates in an accurate and timely fashion. Deliver cross-functional updates, reporting, executive summaries, and analyses.

  • Identify new opportunities for growth; use your advanced Excel and data-querying skills to build and present business cases for larger non-organic growth projects.

  • Manage business relationships with our performance agencies, ensuring they are properly briefed and tracking towards KPIs. Provide feedback and recommendations on agency performance.

  • Develop and grow Agile skillsets & practices within the team; identify skills gaps and work with Sr Director, eCommerce to build hiring plans and improve workflows.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of direct eCommerce or Online Sales experience, ideally in a software, SaaS, or services business.

  • 5+ years of experience using test and learn, DXO, CRO, and other agile methodologies to create online shopping experiences in an ecommerce environment

  • 5+ years managing digital advertising, affiliate marketing, seeding, trial conversion, and SEO

  • 5+ years working with an enterprise eCommerce platform: Magento (preferred), SAP Hybris, ATG, BigCommerce, Digital River, or similar

  • Demonstrated track record of driving acquisition and growth through digital channels.

  • Deep understanding of web analytics (preferably GA), tag management and data flows

  • Expert knowledge of Excel

  • Familiarity with Agile tools & workflows (eg Kanban boards, JIRA, Confluence), CRO planning platforms (eg Effective Experiments, Optimizely, VWO)

  • Demonstrated experience with BI tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)

  • Experience of driving projects in a large, highly matrixed global corporation.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic front-end skills including HTML, CSS style sheets, JavaScript

  • Experience with email marketing to drive demand-generation and conversion

  • Familiarity with software licensing models, and an understanding of how they work in an eCommerce environment.

  • Strong project management skills
