Job Description

Seasoned Healthcare leader responsible for managing Profit and Loss for pharmacy business units and those senior staff that functionally manage Pharmacy business units, supporting audits, customer relations, claims processing, call centers, prior authorizations, system maintenance and operations, contract compliance and management, finances and budget, human relations and communication. Develops the Pharmacy line of business strategy for growth, business development and leadership.

Detailed functions include:

  • Accountable for the performance and results of the Pharmacy line of business, providing leadership, priorities, and direction through senior managers.

  • Formulates company policies and executes long-term functional strategy to achieve key business objectives, long-range goals and objectives.

  • Evaluates key business challenges and directs the development of new or innovative solutions.

  • Directs and delegates activities to attain goals and objectives for business operations. Reviews analysis of activities, cost, operations, and forecast date to determine business progress toward stated goals and objectives.

  • Shapes the opinions of, and negotiates with, other senior leaders and establishes collaborative relationships across the business.

  • Manages using long-term view and builds a shared vision with others, acts a catalyst of organization change. Influences others, translates vision into action.

  • Maintain positive customer relationships among government civil servants and political appointees. Responsible for client satisfaction through Net Promoter Score (NPS).

  • Oversees the lifecycle of a portfolio of solutions for Pharmacy.

  • Decides on the feasibility of new businesses and investments being responsible for the results of the operations realized.

  • Builds high-performing and highly-capable teams to drive business growth.

  • Assures compliance with contractual standards, Company policy, State and Federal laws and regulations.

  • Meets Profit and Loss targets monthly, quarterly, annually.

  • Manages internal and/or external delivery teams directly or through matrix organization, which may include management of multiple sub-contractors.

  • Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities for new business and expansion of existing business

  • Manages potential risk and issues, minimizes and manages vulnerabilities and executes contingency/correction plans.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

  • Minimum 7 years of senior level operations/technical management experience

  • 5+ years’ health insurance payer experience required, Medicaid preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience managing call centers, claims, or other healthcare operations area, including staff and P&L experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
