Role Purpose

The Digital Curriculum Manager will play a critical role in designing and curating high quality digital learning experiences and programs. This individual will manage Corning’s key digital learning footprint, including the WD&Llearning hub, and our digital content libraries, including LinkedIn Learning, Get Abstract and Udemy. This position will report directly to, Corning’s Digital Experience Manager.


Workforce Development and Learning (“WD&L”) is a global center of excellence within Corning’s talent management function. WD&L’s scope includes enterprise learning; leadership development; OD/OE; employee engagement; diversity, equity and inclusion; performance management; and talent planning. The WD&L function is headquartered in Corning, NY with many team members working remotely and spread across the US. We are represented in all major global regions, with colleagues in Berlin, Shanghai, Reynosa, MX, and Charlotte, NC. The WD&L Director and Corning’s Chief Learning Officer is based in Austin, TX.

In addition to the Corning team, WD&L strategically partners with external suppliers who design, develop and deliver world class experiences. We hand select the best instructional designers, project managers, and voice/video experts to develop custom content, master classes, and podcasts.

The team is primarily organized functionally with a simple structure focused on Operations and Program Management, Digital Experiences and Platforms, Engagement Surveys, Performance and Talent Planning. This is supplemented with individuals who manage curriculum supporting Manufacturing and Engineering, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Position Description

The Digital Curriculum Manager will play a critical role in the digital and virtual learning design of our key programs. This role will consult on digital learning strategy and design by managing Corning’s key digital learning footprint, including the WD&Llearning hub, and our digital content libraries, including LinkedIn Learning, Get Abstract and Udemy. This role will also support digital content strategy and curation by consulting with program and site owners for ILead@Corning leadership curriculum, and Become Corning virtual onboarding program. This individual will also support the content integration within our learning management system and social collaboration sites, powered by SAP Success Factors Learn and JAM (soon to be evolving to Work Zones). The digital curriculum manager will report to Rebecca Chandler, Learning Experience Manager.


  • Manage and curate content from external content libraries, including LinkedIn Learning and Udemy

  • Help develop learning journeys/roadmaps based on critical roles and skills

  • Refresh and maintain the enterprise ILearn@Corning learning hub

  • Lead projects such as the new supervisor curriculum

  • Partner with external suppliers to develop high quality learning experiences

  • Leverage the power of the SAP Success Factors platforms, including Learn and Jam/Work Zones

  • Partner with the learning experience platforms manager to moderate and design learning hubs

  • Partner with regional stakeholders to understand needs and consult to meet those needs


  • Digital learning background, adept at Storyline and other authoring tools

  • Experience consulting with the business and conducting learning needs analysis

  • Ability to curate content to support learning needs

  • Ability to partner with and manage vendor relationships

  • Experience designing for SAP Success Factors Learn and JAM or similar learning platforms

  • Highest quality bar for world class digital learning experiences

  • This is an individual contributor role with room for career growth

  • Supplier management; negotiation skills

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in learning or related field is desired or MSHR with learning/development as area of focus and experience

  • Limited international and US travel is required when conditions allow

  • This role is “remote” and can be based anywhere, with preference for a Corning location (Corning, NY; Charlotte, NC; Austin, TX, Tewksbury, MA)
