Kelly Services Automation Engineer (Laboratory Equipment) in Austin, Texas

An Automation Engineer job is available with Kelly Engineering Services in Austin, TX. A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering long with 5 years’ experience working with another mechanical engineer, you are responsible for laboratory equipment including automated bottle and tube filling equipment . This position is responsible for repairing and validating equipment. Specifically, this position is responsible for the mechanical, electrical and controls engineering aspects of these activities.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in analyzing data and applying objective judgement to resolve problems

  • Experience in applying engineering principles and industry standards to control system designs

  • Experience in managing assignments across multiple engineering projects

  • Experience in successfully executing to project deliverables including budgets and timelines Experience in the specification, design, fabrication, and qualification of automated manufacturing equipment

  • Experience with engineering tools and methods for tasks such as experimentation (DOE), risk assessment (FMEA), process control (SPC), and statistical analysis Experience in design and implementation of automation systems for high-mix/low-volume production desired Experience in machine design to applicable ISO standards and CE directives desired

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provides capital project technical consulting and support services on demand for automation topics and requirements. This resource will support and/or lead the project execution. In addition, this resource is available to provide technical support to other projects in the portfolio up to and including management of the projects

  • Provide engineering and technical support for projects.

  • Ability to be flexible in work assignments i.e., tasks, hours, shift, days of week Interfaces - Coordinate/support other departments to ensure smooth execution of work.

  • Provide technical advice to other manufacturing departments

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSME or BSEE preferred) with 5 years demonstrated applicable experience OR, Master’s degree (MSME or MSEE preferred) with 3 years demonstrated applicable experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Office Proficient in technical writing including authoring engineering protocols, reports, and procedures Medical Device/Biopharmaceutical manufacturing (i.e. GMP, FDA, ISO 13485) experience desired Self-motivated with good problem solving, communication, and coordination skills
