Expectations to work every third weekend and some holidays.Job OverviewThe Behavioral Health Specialist is responsible for direct patient care andsafety including supervision and management of children and adolescents;performs duties under the direction of a registered nurse or licensedpsychiatric professional. This position may encounter potentially volatilecare situations that could result in bodily harm.The 8th floor Inpatient Medical Unit, is a dynamic 48-bed general medicalunit serving a wide variety of patient populations from birth to earlyadulthood. We specialize clinically in the areas of digestive health, renalimpairment, infectious diseases, behavioral health, endocrine andmetabolic disorders, and immune deficiencies to name a few. You will findour team to be a passionate and intelligent interdisciplinary team ofnurses, clinical assistants, mental health counselors, inpatient servicespecialists, and providers; caring for medically complex and acutely illpatients in a fast-paced environment. These patient populations challenge usto exercise critical thinking, clinical decision making, and clinicaljudgement.
