Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Diabetes is looking for a full time 1.0 FTE clinician educator with primary responsibility as outpatient care for patients with all types of endocrine disorders, with a significant focus on management of outpatient and inpatient diabetes. However, the applicant should be comfortable with all endocrine disorders. Primary inpatient duties will be on the inpatient glucose management team. Additional inpatient call and attending duties could be two weeks a year. Other responsibilities would include clinical service, teaching of medical students, residents/fellows and scholarly activity as well. This is an 'open rank' position for Assistant or Associate Professor depending on experience.
Clinical (80%): Some of these clinics will be at the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion and some might be at the satellite facilities.
Four to five half-day Endocrinology clinics a week
Two half days per week on the inpatient glucose management team with some weekend call
One 2-week blocks on inpatient Endocrine consult service
- Teaching of medical students, residents and fellow in classroom and ward settings
Scholarly activity (10%):
Attendance at conference within the division
Scholarly activity which can include QI projects, clinical trials and writing of articles.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at:
Assistant Professor : $143,000 – $169,000
Associate Professor : $161,000 – $190,000
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Required Competencies: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Prior fellowship training in Endocrinology
Previous basic or clinical research experience in at least one of the following fields: Endocrinology, Metabolism, Diabetes, Weight Management, Obesity and Diet.
Minimum Requirements: Experience, Education and Licensure
- MD/DO board certified or board eligible in Endocrinology, Metabolism & Diabetes
Preferred Qualifications: Qualities desired for the position
Board certified in Internal Medicine
Applicants should be enthusiastic about a career in academic medicine with a strong interest in providing excellent clinical care in the outpatient and inpatient setting. There should be a desired for teaching and writing and an interest in opportunities in clinical research.
