We are currently seeking a Test Engineer II . This position located in Atlantic City, NJ .
Battelle’s Aviation Security Division provides test and evaluation services to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The qualified candidate for this position will support Independent Test and Evaluation (IT&E) events for security technologies at the Transportation Security Laboratory (TSL). Candidate will be responsible for working directly with the client and the team to lead coordination, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting for discrete test events for the Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT) program. These test efforts may involve the use of live explosives.
This is a lead role, with the qualified candidate assuming responsibility for being the primary client interface for AIT-related efforts, and providing technical and programmatic direction for staff assigned to support AIT efforts.
Leads teams in compiling and evaluating design and test data, preparing technical specifications, analyzing technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for product, process or materials specifications.
Working closely with client stakeholders to design, plan, and execute test events, including leading technical staff in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Leads the preparation of project results, both orally and in written form, and is expected to interface daily with clients and stakeholders on-site, including system vendors as required.
Oversees the daily activities of engineering and technician staff that support the program and works with client and program stakeholders to support resource and staffing needs.

The candidate must have at least a BS in engineering, physics, chemistry, or related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience with operating AIT systems and an understanding of their operation and functionality.
A working knowledge of detection testing, test design, and requirements/standards.
Experience leading teams for contracted work on a client site.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Significant experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Candidates should be highly motivated and self-starters with a strong desire to learn.
The candidate must be able to travel, if required. Travel is expected to be <10%.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED
Experience executing AIT detection testing, and/or working at the TSL supporting DHS T&E programs.
Experience designing and executing tests to evaluate the performance of security screening technologies deployed by TSA.
Experience with other technologies, including Explosive Detection Systems (EDS), Explosive Trace Detection (ETD), Advanced Technology (AT) X-ray systems, and other TSA-deployed screening technologies.
Experience and associated training to support work with explosive materials.
