We look forward to the future, and what this means for you, if you join our team.Responsible for overall origination of USDA-guaranteed loans by leading a team of Business Development Officers (BDOs)to meet both department and Ameris Bank goals.Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:Lead team of BDOs by establishing sales goals, and providing guidance/mentorship in order to achieve themProvide guidance on various matters such as sales, marketing, and loan structuringProvide oversight and direction to BDOs in accordance with the Bank's policies and proceduresDrive loan growth for the department by identifying business development opportunities in profitable, growth-oriented industries and marketsAssist BDO's with loan structuring, financial analysis, and loan-committee presentationEnsure BDOs use proper analysis and appropriate judgement in making recommendations for approvalMonitor and assist BDO's with sales efforts and navigation of internal processesEnsure consistent and successful implementation of division initiativesWork closely with senior management to determine overall sales strategy, goals, product needs, and staffing requirementsAssist in establishing new client and referral source relationshipsDirect BDO activities that target good-quality loan opportunitiesKeep abreast of program regulation changes, and communicate these to BDOsKeep abreast of the bank's credit policies, and communicate these to BDOsCollaborate with marketing to develop and maintain promotional materialOversee BDO performance managementOversee staffing needs, and assist with recruiting, interviewing, and terminationAmeris Bank POC with USDA State and National OfficesRequired Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:Proficient in commercial credit analysisExpertise in USDA policies and proceduresProven ability to think strategically and understand the big picturePossess high degree of ownership and accountabilityAbility to influence and maneuver through appropriate formal and informal organization channelsAbility to constructively manage and handle conflictThorough knowledge of banking policies, procedures, products, and servicesIndustry and Work Experience:Minimum of 7 years of experience in USDA LendingAcademic:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fieldDisclaimer:The above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required for the position.All job requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
