HNTB Sr Project Manager - Planning in Atlanta, Georgia

What We're Looking For

Now is the time to join HNTB. We are seeking a Sr. PM for Planning who will manage multiple, large-scale urban design and/or planning projects in and around the Atlanta area.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Formulate, conduct and document technical planning studies;

  • Develop regional long range and comprehensive transportation plans and multi-modal solutions to address travel demands in various counties;

  • Perform: traffic and revenue studies on managed lanes and toll facilities;

  • Travel demand modeling using CUBE, TransCAD and VISUM;

  • Geographic Information System analysis using ArcGIS;

  • Transportation project cost estimation standard tools including RUCEST and CES;

  • Safety analysis on transportation projects;

  • Air quality hotspot studies using MOBILE6.2, MOVES2010, CAL3QHC and EMIT;

  • Transit ridership forecasting using the FTA’S Simplified Trips-on-Project Software (STOPS);

  • Prepare air quality assessments as part of NEPA documents;

  • Gather and prepare material and data for proposals, documents and presentations;

  • Attend meetings pertaining to existing and potential projects, including public awareness groups and regulatory agency meetings;

  • Coordinate and consult with Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies on scope, budget and impact of project; and

  • Coordinate, coach and train co-op and intern planners.

  • Oversee/manage staff of modeler

  • Serve as primary point of contact for modeling services, internal (co-workers) and external (clients)

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • 15 years related experience

  • RLA, RA, AICP or CEP certification

  • Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning or related field. Knowledge of city and regional planning history and theory, transportation planning theory and concepts, travel demand modeling concepts, air quality and environmental impact, Geographic Information System tools.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, ArcGIS, CUBE, TransCAD, and Air quality related tools (MOVES2010, MOBILE6.2, CAL3QHC, and EMIT),

  • Georgia Department of Transportation approved tools for transportation project cost estimation (RUCEST and CES).

  • Activity Based Models.

  • Experience leading the growth of a practice through relationships, project delivery, coaching and mentoring of others.

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manages administrative tasks related to the project, including project team assignments and scheduling.

  • Serves as primary point-of-contact with client and other project consultants.

  • Estimates fees, determines work scope and prepares proposals and contracts for large-scale projects.

  • Coordinates all work efforts among project team, project sub-consultants and other disciplines as necessary.

  • Manages client’s budgets, schedule and program and HNTB budget and schedule.

  • Manages project communications and documentation.

  • Manages administrative tasks related to the project, including project team assignments and scheduling.

  • Reviews work of other project team members for accuracy and completeness.

  • Coordinates and communicates regularly with group director and office leader on progress of projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning, Architecture or related field

  • 12 years related experience

  • 10 years related experience (Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning, Architecture or related field)
