Position Summary

True Value Company, one of the world's largest hardlines wholesalers with more than 4,400 independent retailers in over 60 countries, is looking for an experienced Senior Clerk who is interested in working in an environment that encourages quality, decision making & team work. In this role you will work as part of the clerical support staff in a high-volume, multi-shift, distribution operation in our Jonesboro, GA Regional Distribution Center (RDC).

A Senior Clerk - Accounts Payable will perform a variety of clerical duties; Coding and processing expense payable invoices, ordering supplies, data key entry, filing, customer service, and administrative duties to support the RDC.

Position Description

  • Performs Accounts Payable, data entry utilizing spreadsheets and various operating software; performs calculations, runs reports, and processes invoices for payment.

  • Performs clerical duties including photocopying, compiling records, filing, tabulating, posting information, handling phone calls and distributing mail.

  • Provides customer service support as needed.

  • Applies knowledge of department policies and procedures and utilizes knowledge of the organization and various functions to respond to inquiries or direct work.

  • Work closely with Office Manager and Associates to complete projects on time.

  • Cross-train and provide back up for other Office Personnel, as the workload requires (ex. reception, cliams, data processing.).

Position Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements: High School Degree or equivalent.

  • Years of Related Experience: Not less than 1 year data entry experience. 3-5 years customer service and office clerical experience required.

  • Must have excellent PC Skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint required;

  • Must be capable of working extended hours, holidays, alternate shifts.

  • Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and meticulous about details.

  • Ability to perform multiple assignments to the maximum level of quality standards while meeting assigned deadlines.

  • Ability to effectively handle sensitive or emotional customer contact situations with a positive and helpful attitude.

  • Must have ability to work in a fast paced, team environment.

  • Ability to learn new functions, processes and methodologies.
