Position Overview

Autodesk seeks a senior engineer for an agile team within the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) organization, designated with designing robust and resilient APIs, data pipelines, and other functions for our data platforms. Our platforms are core to the functions of the business for organizations like Sales, Marketing, Web Properties, and Finance. This role collaborates with Product Managers, Program/Project managers, Architects, Operations, and the Engineering Team to ensure data pipelines and delivery uses modern, scalable, reliable methods. Communication skills are critical, and you must be comfortable distilling complex technical information to a non-technical audience as well as a strong collaborator within your team.

Our team is a group of highly collaborative individuals who are excited to solve challenges, and implement cloud based, resilient, available, reliable software. We are comfortable with several languages and paradigms and aim to choose the technology which is most appropriate for the task. We endeavor to automate our tests and deployments end to end. Responsibilities

  • Engineeringsoftwareandsolution architecture fornew and existing data pipelines andsystemsin a cloud environment

  • Maintainingand supporting existing data pipelines,systems, and platforms

  • Participatingas a proactive team member in an agile environment

  • Consultingand interviewingstakeholders to understandrequirements for softwarearchitectureand implementations

  • Testingimplementations to guaranteethey perform to specificationsand requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong Experience in several of the following:

  • Python (required) / familiarity with multiple languages preferred

  • AWS – Lambda, S3, DynamoDB,API Gateway,etc.

  • Airflow

  • dbt

  • Fivetran

  • SQL/ Snowflake SQL

  • Snowflake

  • Jenkins

  • Splunk

  • Terraform orCloudFormation

  • JVM (nice to have)

  • Extensive experienceinall facets ofsoftware engineeringwith a strong focus on data

  • Firm understanding of programming paradigms, their usage, as well as data structures.(e.g.OOP vs Functional, Time/space complexity,Hashmapvs List)

  • Experience incrosssectionof the software engineering spectrum (APIs, Front-end, Backend, Data layers, Service layers, etc.)

  • Strong experience in API architecture(REST)andmicroserviceswithhands onimplementationexperience

  • Experience with CI/CD andfamiliarityTDD/BDD. Preferably you have concrete examples of each

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, understanding how to tailor your message to your audience

  • Experience designing and using data lakes and data warehouses

  • Powerful sense of ownership with a bias for action when challenges arise

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across an organization

  • Desire to investigate and follow best practices

  • Experience and familiarity with the roles/responsibilities of Scrum

  • Eagernessto learn and share knowledge with a good attitude
