Varian Medical Systems Regional Info Systems Manager, Americas in Atlanta, Georgia

Provides leadership for Varian’s End User Computing and Site support organization in a specified region in the American continent. Performs all required management responsibilities including but not limited to: implementing the company's policies, programs, and guidelines; ensuring employee productivity and growth; managing resources;

  • Manages and controls the activities of the End User Computing and Site support organization in the US East Coast and other assigned regions

  • Performs all required management responsibilities including but not limited to: implementing the company's policies, programs, and guidelines; ensuring employee productivity and growth; managing resources

  • Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods

  • Working within a global team to support end users and client devices

  • Domestic or international travel required

  • Controls incident management, request management, problem management, asset management workflows by taking ownership, prioritizing incoming work, and delivering services meeting defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) timelines

  • Independently handles assigned tasks, diagnoses, analyzes and solves complex problems.

  • Demonstrate excellent management skills to direct the IT support team towards operational excellence and develop team members

  • Ensures that IT infrastructure is up-to-date by leading refresh projects (PC, Network, Server etc.)

  • Develop End User Computing project portfolio in collaboration with manager and peers as part of the annual project planning process. Actively manage assigned project within budget and meet delivery dates. Attends conference calls and meetings with project team members from around the world and carry out assigned project tasks according to project schedule

  • Manage IT Service Delivery in the region and is the Business escalation point for all services

  • Responsible for the annual budgets, monthly expense analyses, forecast, budget vs. actual forecasts and capital purchases

  • Safeguards local license management and responsible for vendor relationship management

  • Business Software Support: Leads the team in managing and troubleshooting Varian suite of software and applications together with the help of software specific IT support groups and vendors, especially local software and applications specific to the region

  • Ensures that IT documentation is always up-to-date

  • Contributes actively to improving IT processes and services by working with peers on creating improvement ideas and supporting development programs

  • Manages active business relationship to understand Varian’s goals and targets, business needs and requirements and adopts IT services accordingly. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization. Manages business expectations and escalations

  • Maintains relationship and interacts with domestic, regional or global vendors. Negotiates improvements of existing services and contributes to formulating new services. Ensures SLAs are constantly met or exceeded

  • Being part of the local management team participate in the management meetings

  • Willing to adopt a flexible work pattern

  • Follows and safeguards company policies (IT Security policy, Software licensing etc.)

  • Support the global client services team in other areas as requested by the line manager
