How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
Create, develop and execute communications strategy and tactics for specific client groups in assigned departments within the IFS division. Responsible for multiple departments within the Division/Business Unit.
Lead IFS divisional communication projects for cross-divisional communications
Write and edit memos, speeches, talking points and presentations for senior leaders and execute project-level communication plans for IFS leadership
Ensure correctness and completeness of operational communications for frontline team members
Use mass communication methods and innovative uses of technology, which could include email distribution, web portal postings, memos, videos, Workplace by Facebook (SkyHub) and DeltaVision to strategically communicate corporate and divisional information, updates and newsApply strategic and critical thinking attributes and use project management methodology for implementation of new communication products, tools and technical enhancements
Serve as a partner and consultant to other communication team members, including within In-flight Service, Corporate Communications, Employee Communications, with divisional partners and stakeholders across the Delta system.
Responsible for the development of the client groups’ culture storytelling strategy
Identify innovations and improvements to current communication methods (e.g., social media, multi-media).
Build and enhance communication vehicles and tools to meet the needs of the audience.
Manage divisional webpages within the company intranet
Assist with ongoing measurement plan for communications effectiveness for measuring progress against goals
Partner with senior leaders to measure effectiveness of communications, draw insights from analytics and make necessary recommendations for improvement
Responsible for training, mentoring and developing new team members
Support company’s goal of open, honest and direct communications
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in corporate communications, divisional communications, and Public Relations/Communications agency.
Must have demonstrated expertise with Associated Press style
3 years’ of experience copyediting, writing business communications, writing executive speeches and letters
Minimum of 5 years of advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Photoshop) required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with web publishing tools and website maintenance/development and/or digital media experience is required
Minimum of 3 years of project management experience is required
Storytelling experience strongly preferred

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Bachelor Degree in Journalism, Communications or similar field strongly preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered
