Norfolk Southern Labor Relations Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Description

Primary Purpose

As an Analyst in the Labor Relations department, you will use data, research and analytical insights to measure and report on trends and root causes to influence and support business decisions. Your daily functions will involve forecasting, modeling, querying data and using other technical tools to create reports and make recommendations that assist the corporation’s goal to comply with labor agreements and increase employee efficiency & productivity.

The ideal candidate will be able to analyze large data sets, present data in a meaningful way and tell a story with the metrics which will inform and drive our strategy. Principal duties include:

Conduct data analysis, data mining, and data manipulation to understand company needs and devise possible solutions

Develop, automate, maintain and deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly HR metrics and dashboards

Perform ad hoc analysis to answer key business questions

Provide insights through clear and concise presentations that inspire action

Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through relationship building and collaboration across departments

Serve as knowledgeable ambassador at job fairs and community outreach events

Develop and maintain contacts with schools, alumni groups, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

Experience with analytical tools and/or quantitative business analysis such as:

Excel

SQL

Access

Tableau, Power BI or Spotfire

Experience querying data, data interpretation and report generation

Experience in data visualization tools to create and enhance dashboards

General understanding of HR business processes and practices

Strong communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Excel skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly

Experience utilizing: Microsoft Office, SAP

Analytical thinking

Proactive, flexible, and adaptive to changing priorities

Education

Required Level: Bachelor's Degree (Any)
