Actuarial Analyst II (Cost of Care)

Preferred Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Alternate Locations: Indianapolis, IN; Mason, OH; Louisville, KY; St. Louis, MO; Waukesha, WI; Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA

The Actuarial Analyst II supports key external and internal trend reporting processes. Develop customer facing analytical and forecasting models with connections to underlying databases. Completes diverse projects and performs actuarial studies.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement new processes, reports and models.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support to various customers by preparing tools, loading adjustment factors and meeting key monthly deliverables.

  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.

  • Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.


Requires a BS/BA degree; required to have passed at least three Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams; at least 1 year related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in SQL or SAS programmer, experience with Tableau, Power Pivot/Query/BI, and strong skills querying from a claims warehouse (EDWard and EDM for internal candidates).
