Description:Under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, the Pharmacy technician will perform assigned duties with an emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and patient safety.
Phamracy Technician will be responsible for delivering medications to and from nursing units, restocking automated dispensing cabinets by accurately selecting and loading medications, preparing medications in unit of use containers.
Compounding intravenous (IV) solutions by maintaining sterility, properly maintaining and cleaning laminar flow hoods/compounding area.
Controlling inventory by rotating stock to minimize expired products, maintaining appropriate stock levels, proactively responding to drug shortages, removing expiring medications from inventory.
Previous hospital experience is preferred but not required.
Pharmacy technician certification is preferred but not required.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent GED
