Oracle s Global Business Units is seeking a highly energeticSenior Director of Solution Architecturefor a mission critical division of the organization. The GBU s acquire, develop and operate Oracle s Industry Specific solutions, reaching across 8 different industry units and well over 50 distinct products. The role involves managing a team of highly experienced individual contributors, personally contributing to and leading multidisciplinary projects. The primary focus is architecting, re-developing, migrating, improving, designing, and prototyping complex cross-product solutions involving Oracle s Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) working with our internal GBU teams. The position also involves interfacing directly with Oracle s leaders within the GBU product development ecosystem. The Senior Director is responsible for the management of projects and staff, primarily focused on designing cloud based architectures for use in complex high profile Oracle products as well as internal high profile swat team activities aimed at bettering the products we offer our GBU partners. The Senior Director is also responsible for actively driving, managing, measuring, and evaluating project progress, innovative use of Oracle s Cloud Development products and tools, and harvesting real world use cases for product management in a competing-priority environment.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage competing, quickly changing priorities effectively and handle input from many internal and external collaborators and stakeholders.
Help define, plan, and marshal needed resources for a given project.
Provide hands-on, day-to-day oversight, engagement, and support for a team of high caliber solution architects. Help team members to grow professionally, maximize team productivity, and continually search for and implement process improvements.
Work effectively in a fluid environment of fast moving targets with minimal oversight, few formal requirements, and in a fluid environment. Listen to input from team members, stakeholders, management, and peers, and make quick decisions "on the fly" as needed, often without the availability of complete information.

Clearly defining and communicating roles, responsibilities, and expectations for all members of a project team.
Identify recurring patterns and solutions and generalize these for broader re-use across the entire ecosystem.

The Senior Director must have communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, succinctly articulate business impacts, translate technical information into layperson and business terms, concisely storyboard complex problems, solutions, and approaches in a manner appropriate for executives, develop frameworks, templates, and high-quality pragmatic deliverables that can be carried forth and executed by project teams, and articulate and demonstrate gaps in our products based on real world customer use cases.

Strong understanding and hands-on experience in Oracle PaaS and IaaS related technologies such as Java, integration, mobile, security, storage, compute, and networking.
A master s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or a Bachelor s Degree and comparable experience in software development, information technology, and/or data architecture.
Minimum of 10 or more years of experience in progressively responsible information technology and leadership positions including at least 5 years in leadership role.
Extensive experience with cloud services in the areas of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS
