TekSynap Information Systems Security Officer - ISSO in Arlington, Virginia

We are seeking an ISSO to support the AFNCR IT Services program at the National Military Command Center (NMCC) in Arlington, VA.

The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review system security Assessment and Authorization (AA) package submissions for consistency, completeness and traceability ensuring compliance with current AF AA guidance

  • Create cyber security strategies that ensures compliance to industry best practices and government regulations, performing compliance monitoring, providing remediation strategies, and maintaining the compliance of the organization.

  • Document residual risks and provide the cybersecurity risk analysis and mitigation determination results.

  • Perform Windows Domain and Network Auditing proficiently

  • Understand the regulations and processes associated with working with in a SIPRNet / The Secret Internet Protocol Router Network environment.

  • Utilize expert level of knowledge as it pertains to networking in a secure network environment.

  • Collaborate with technical teams as well as organizational stakeholders as it pertains to vulnerability management

  • Must be able to work in a constantly changing regulatory environment with short, mid, and long term timelines for remediating any non-compliance

  • Must be able to work well within a team environment and able to adapt quickly to change.

  • Background or understanding of System Security Plans (SSP) as well as other associated A&A documentation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of related experience, training, and/or certifications accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Current DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT II (one of the following: GSEC, Security+, SCNP and SSCP certifications

  • Current DoD TS/SCI security clearance.

  • Experience with Windows Domain and Network Auditing

  • Experience in Vulnerability Management, IAVM, Deficiency Mitigation's and General A&A (Assessment & Authorization) processes and procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Past or current ISSM / ISSO experience.

  • DoD IS knowledge and experience.

  • Security hardening scripting/automation experience.

  • Knowledge of SIPRNet operations at the small enclave level.

  • Microsoft OS Certification (MCSE Win 7 or other).

  • Familiarity with Cisco network equipment, able to plan, deploy, troubleshoot and backup.
