Position Highlights

  • Work location: Remote, Main Office location, Chase Building 12th Floor, 500 E Border Street, Arlington Texas

  • Work environment: Health Information Management Coding

  • Work hours: Monday-Friday 8-4:30pm

  • Salary range: $20.66 – $31.21/hr

Qualifications

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy and Physiology courses Required

Completion or training in ICD-10 and CPT coding (provide documentation upon interview) Required

Associate's Degree Preferred

RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator Upon Hire Preferred

RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician Upon Hire Preferred

COC - Certified Outpatient Coder Upon Hire Preferred

Other CCA, CCS, CPC, etc. Upon Hire Preferred

Position Responsibilities: Reviews and interprets health record documentation to identify pertinent diagnosis/procedures that require code assignment for outpatient ancillary, diagnostic, therapeutic and emergency department records.

Demonstrates appropriate utilization of coding software and coding reference material.

Assigns/sequences ICD10-CM and CPT codes to selected medical records per Coding Guidelines, THR Coding Compliance Policies, CMS and other third party payers.

Queries physicians to ensure appropriate documentation for accurate coding.

Maintains adequate production.

Abstracts pertinent information from patient medical records.

Correctly identifies and abstracts all physicians and disposition codes.

Maintains coding proficiency by keeping up-to-date on coding guidelines as published in Coding Clinic and CPT Assistant.

Completes all hospital required training and education.

Completes appropriate continuing education credits as required for any credentials held and/or THR coding compliance requirements.
