This position works closely with the business areas on work definition and risks to inform priority and order the work. It includes oversight of architecture, all core administration and support including operational outages (internal or vendor caused) and business continuity planning and execution (when needed). As an asset owner, this position is responsible for the health and availability of a set of systems supporting the Investment/Mutual Fund Division. This position works closely with the Product Owner and ScrumMaster to ensure successful results across multiple delivery teams.**We are open to candidates working remotely anywhere across the United States.

Job Description

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership

  • Promote practices in engineering that enable high quality solutions.

  • Foster a culture of innovation that promotes new ideas and sunsets that which has become less relevant.

  • Serve as a primary collaboration partner for cross-company corporate projects, as needed.

  • Provide technical coaching with a focus on effective, efficient, and elegant solutions.

  • Develop relationships with business owners and stakeholders to drive a culture of technical partnership in support of the Engineering staff.

Professional Staff Development

  • Provide coaching and mentorship as it relates to achieving individual professional goals and objectives.

  • Facilitate growth by connecting individuals to internal and/or external resources and opportunities.

  • Bring new members into the team as needed within the context of a teaming structure.

Performance Management

  • Facilitate regular performance check-ins to support commitment, engagement, and accountability. Ensure expectations are managed and that individuals are aware, informed, and aligned.

  • Recognize and reward in a fair and timely manner with an appropriate balance between team and individual.

  • Encourage and assist in development of feedback solicitation strategies that provide a 360 viewpoint.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop strategic staffing plans that position the team to successfully deliver solutions that align to business initiative and day to day operational needs.

  • Manage compensation cycle analysis and planning.

  • Promote and innovate with the entire department our agile thinking around product delivery and team effectiveness.

  • Ensure the health of our technical assets.

​REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent business experience. Advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience as a leader in a people management and development role

  • 8+ years of relevant experience leading technical business systems development

  • Credibility; proven competence in a leadership position working with technology support areas

  • Experience in a shop that operates with an Agile mindset and uses specific frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.

OTHER CRITICAL FACTORS

  • On-call for Business Continuity Management and staff support - 24x7

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Passion and/or experience supporting an Investments or Finance function. Understanding of Asset Management, Mutual Funds and Capital Markets a plus.

  • This position is eligible for relocation.

  • This position allows a flexible work arrangement (Appleton preferred/Minneapolis/Remote).

  • This position requires working on-site in Appleton three days per quarter and Minneapolis one day per quarter.
