Wings Financial Credit Union Mortgage Lending Underwriter in Apple Valley, Minnesota

Description Supports mortgage origination team in the attainment of departmental loan goals. Interprets; underwrites and ensures that all mortgage loans are in compliance with secondary market and credit union guidelines. Stays informed of credit union and investor guidelines and changes and reports to mortgage managers accordingly. Provides expertise on operational direction of underwriting analysis, testing and deployment (LOS software). Monitors, interprets and implements investor and credit union underwriting guide changes and announcements. Performs QC prefunding audits. Prepares and submits pmi audits; investor and credit union audits. Responsible for review; mitigating exceptions and reporting of all audits according to investor and Wings Financial guidelines. Communicates QC findings to mortgage managers and mortgage team to ensure education and consistency. Ensures security and privacy of all members personal information and documentation. Works directly with LOS Analyst to ensure compliance is effectively utilized within LOS system. Adheres to QC operational policies and procedures. Exceptional interpersonal skills, professionalism and work experience. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: College degree in management, business or related area preferred; Management/Supervisory experience preferred; 5-7 years background in variety of lending functions and familiarity with regulatory regulations. Knowledge of financial services and experience in real estate loans required at financial institution Strong communicative skills required Professional appearance for public contact Bondable Required to obtain or possess a Mortgage Loan Originator ("MLO") unique qualifier (NMLS registration number). Must have the ability to successfully complete all MLO Registry requirements, including passing background and credits checks and submitting to fingerprinting and to any other requirements of the rules enacted pursuant to the S.A.F.E.
