Sutter Health CT Technologist in Antioch, California

Position Overview:

The CT Technologist coordinates and produces quality computerized tomography (CT) studies and assists in CT guided procedures. The technologist must demonstrate and exercise critical thinking skills, knowledge of cross-sectionalanatomy/physiology, radiation safety, venipuncture, and safe medication administration, specific to contrast media and adjunct medications. The technologist is responsible for the safe operation of sophisticated imaging and ancillary equipment toproduce quality CT procedures.

The CT Technologist ensures accurate documentation and image transmission and storage, professional and effective communication, and demonstrates knowledge of age-appropriate criteria when working with all patients, which include highrisk and critically ill patients. Responsible for accurate charge capture and documentation.

Population served includes neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatrics.

Principal Accountabilities


Education, Licensures and Certifications:

  • Graduation from a Joint Commission-approved School of Radiologic Technology required

  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Sciences preferred

  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - CRT (Upon hire) required

  • Radiology Fluoroscopy - RHF within 180 days of hire required

  • Basic Life Support Certification - BLS (Upon hire) required

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (Upon hire) required

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - CT (Upon hire) required

  • IV Certification - IV (Upon Hire) required


  • Previous experience in an acute care facility is preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must be knowledgeable in cross sectional anatomy and technical factors

  • Demonstrates proficiency with multiple computerized systems

  • Demonstrates proficiency when working with PACS to transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with all Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements
