Senior Data Analysis Engineer with 10 years of experience to lead and coordinate work associated with trajectory reconstruction of aerospace vehicles in powered flight, free flight and reentry flight based on radar, optical and telemetry data sources. These processes require an in-depth knowledge of reentry physics and optimal estimation theory/application. Additionally, a background utilizing INU’s (inertial navigation units), for sea based radar/optics antenna control is desired.
The candidate also acts as a consultant to projects on problems of major technical complexity. Evaluates technical trade-off studies for accuracy and completeness. May conduct or direct independent research studies to determine possible applications of emerging scientific areas.
Excellent coordination/communication skills, be pro-active and should be able to lead a team of diverse personalities. Be able to monitor and evaluate analysis results. Review and evaluate technical submittals and quality of work from direct reports.
Trajectory reconstruction, using optimal estimation methods as applied to, aerospace vehicles in powered flight, free flight and reentry flight based on radar, optical and telemetry data sources
Application of rigid body reentry physics to the reconstruction of body six degree of motion and correlation with radar data.
Application of radar control system knowledge to the correlation of radar system control data with radar target data
Development of presentation materials and reports
Development of analysis software
Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or other technical field, plus 10 years of experience.
Experience in the application of Applied Numerical Algorithms to problems of powered and ballistic re-entry of suborbital aerospace vehicles.
Radar Signal Processing, Radar Data Analysis, Radar Hardware, System Engineering principals is desirable
Capable of monitoring and evaluating analysis results.
Software proficiency: C & C++, FORTRAN 95, MATLAB, Python
Preferred Additional Skills:
Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance
