FusionStorm, Inc. Installation Technician in Alpharetta, Georgia

Position Overview

The Installation Technician role is responsible for troubleshooting on site and support of our clients who utilize laptops, desktops and chrome books. This dynamic role provides support both onsite as well as remotely with solutions ranging from basic troubleshooting to hardware replacements. In this role the candidate will be expected to support the hardware from in use through to the end of their life cycle by organizing, repairing (including working with supplier for warranty repairs), deploying, and preparing for disposal when appropriate. An ideal candidate would have three to five years’ experience in a similar role providing support for a financial organization. In addition to a typical Windows environment the client leverages Citrix Amazon Workplaces and therefore experience of those environments are desired.


  • Partners with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.

  • Installation Technicians provide desktop hardware installation services where basic technical skills are required.

  • Installation Technicians will typically un-box and install kit to desk and connect peripherals, connect power cables and perform any relevant power on self-tests. Basic steps to start automated builds and simple scripted post-login configuration can also be included.

  • An Installation Technician will also physically connect network cables from desktop clients to associated network points where required. The Installation Technician can be utilized within the overall design of a project rollout solution, for on-site desktop move requirements, on-site peripheral consumable maintenance and other functions.

Education & Experience Required

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

  • Proven experience in IT Desktop Service environment.

  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the usual and customary methods of performing the job functions, including: a variety of standing, sitting, and walking throughout the day; lifting of up to 50 pounds.
