What does a successful Director, Risk & Compliance - Card Services I do?

Provides leadership and execution within Fiserv’s Enterprise Risk, Controls & Compliance program, supporting Card Services. Supports the business’ alignment with enterprise risk frameworks and processes to help ensure systems, products and practices comply with policies, standards, and regulations.

As a Director, Risk & Compliance - Card Services, you can look forward to:

  • Supports Card Services’ engagement with the Enterprise Risk, Controls and Compliance program. Serves as primary risk and compliance partner within the Debit, Networks, ATM, and Managed Solutions product verticals.

  • Supports prioritization of risk & compliance program efforts. Provides thought leadership and risk-based guidance to the business. Recommends practical solutions to help ensure the business meets applicable risk and compliance requirements.

  • Addresses risks within aligned business areas. Assess, track and report on threats and vulnerabilities. Elevates, track and report on risk issues.

  • Manages multiple, risk and compliance initiatives; communicate and escalate as appropriate. Prepare and deliver risk insights to senior leaders.

  • Monitors the regulatory environment applicable to Card Services products and services. Assess and communicate regarding changes; translate regulatory guidance into practical and actionable requirements.

  • Partners with internal SMEs, risk domain leaders, and legal partners.

  • Addresses what is occurring now; analyze the risk and regulatory landscape; anticipate and address future needs.

  • Provides comprehensive risk assessments. Challenges the status quo, dig deep, push back, and ask hard questions.

  • Supports the creation of business cases for change and or investment as needed.

  • Represents the company in risk or compliance-related discussions and meetings with internal and external clients.

  • Collaborates within vertical and horizontal functions to address risk and compliance issues; consult with business stakeholders on solutions based on good models and advice. Interprets / translates between risk domains, technology, and the business.

  • Describes risks in terms such as exposure, financial risk, compliance and reputational risk. Recognizes risk management and compliance are about preparation and prevention, as much as response and recovery.

  • Influences the business to create a more risk-aware culture within the organization. Builds trust with key business partners; is a respected partner and resource.

  • Is intellectually curious.

  • Provides insight as well as information. Drives excellence, within their team(s), aligned business areas, and Fiserv as a whole

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, JD, CRCM, or related field certifications a plus

  • 7+ years of risk and/or compliance experience within financial services; payments/fintech/service provider experience desired.

  • Knowledge of the industry and relevant external forces, with a significant understanding of how regulatory agencies influence business operations within the financial services industry

  • Knowledge and experience defining and applying compliance requirements, industry rules to technologies, data and business processes. Experience performing risk and control assessments, functional mapping and identification of controls, control testing, and documentation/presentation of risk assessments and reports to key business partners, including executive leaders.

  • Succeeds in a fast-paced environment; adapts quickly to change; ability to manage multiple, complex initiatives.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Policy and process development experience; Compliance training content development experience desired.
