Encantado Technical Solutions (ETS) is an unpopulated Small Business Administration-approved mentor-protégé joint venture between Edgewater Federal Solutions, Inc. and ECS Federal, LLC. ETS is bolstered by second-tier subcontractors Information International Associates (IIA) and Amentum. ETS provides comprehensive enterprise and mission-embedded IT support for the $400 – $700 million Third-Party Telecommunications and Information Technology Support Services contract at Sandia National Laboratories. ETS is currently recruiting for a variety of cleared and uncleared IT positions with on-site and remote opportunities in New Mexico and California. As ETS is unpopulated, employees will work for one of the four companies listed above.
Encantado is currently seeking a Linux/Unix System Administrator to support an IT Managed Services program for the Department of Energy at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL). This position will be in Albuquerque, NM.
Supervise and manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based.
Plan and monitor the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization and perform systems capacity analysis and planning.
Plan and monitor assistance to users in accessing and using business systems.
Process Software Assurance method free from vulnerabilities on Linux OS machines.
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain production Linux operating systems in accordance with established IT policies and guidelines for items such as security, networks, and filesystems.
Coordinate and perform installations and upgrades to layered software packages.
Continually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
Patch remediation for all server-based and workstation computer systems assigned to the customer support group on various networks.
Implement of client approved patch management software to support manual and automate system installation of OS definition files.
Automate classified and restricted network equipment OS patching or other automation.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Active DOE Q or DOD Top Secret clearance desired, but in all events must have ability to be cleared at the TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q level and the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract.
Bachelor's degree plus a minimum 2 years experience working in a large distributed environment providing Unix/Linux Server system administration.
Familiarity or experience with virtualized systems (such as KVM, ESX) and containers.
Working knowledge of authentication methodogies such as Kerberos, PAM, and LDAP.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, FTP, SSH, another common Internet protocols.
Familiarity or experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
Experience with solving practical problems and system analysis of IT infrastructures.
Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a contantly changing environment.
Knowledge with CLI, scripting (Bash, Python), and searching/parsing log files.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment.
