Quality Assurance Coordinator

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

Successful candidate will support the QA function within the assigned laboratories. Under supervision received from the QA Specialist and/or QA Manager, assist in the implementation of the QA program to ensure that Bureau Veritas provides its customers accurate and defensible data. Work towards ensuring the laboratories are in compliance with all relevant accreditation programs.

Primary responsibilities include the following (but are not limited to):

  • Monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices to ensure continual and effective implementation

  • Educate and train staff in the requirements of Bureau Veritas Quality Management System

  • Monitor the effective implementation of Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance Program

  • Ensure the Quality System Tools are available and used

  • Encourage, identify and participate in continual improvement

  • Assist Internal Customers in addressing questions, concerns and stuck points with regards to quality practices

  • Liaise and coordinate external QA requirements and process including accreditation requirements (including PTs) and client audits

  • Adhere to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy

  • Support and comply with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program

  • Participate, when requested in lab and Health & Safety meetings

  • Participate, when requested in internal and external audits

  • Maintain training records and relevant qualifications

Is there a mutual fit? You ideally have:

  • Science Technical Diploma or B.Sc. or equivalent

  • 2-4 years laboratory experience, Internal Auditor training an asset

  • Strong science background and experience in laboratory practices

  • Experience working in a GLP, GMP, GXP environment

  • Competent in reviewing analytical procedures and practices

  • Skilful in writing reports and work instructions

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy

  • Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Good time-management, multi-tasking and priority setting skills

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
