Savannah River Remediation is seeking an Industrial Engineer to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

This Industrial Engineer implements solutions to information and processing systems to meet standards set by the Department of Energy (DOE) for the Savannah River Remediation (SRR) project.

  • Design, develop, test, and evaluate systems to optimize industrial production and administrative processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.

  • Develop conventional engineering and scientific solutions to technical tasks or project objectives. Learn SRR and specific Department systems, methodologies, and requirements for accomplishing tasks. Assist more senior engineering personnel and software developers in performing related activities in more complex tasks.

  • Collaborate with software developers, engineers, and operations personnel to identify efficient solutions for processes.

  • Develop, coordinate, and plan solutions to predict and minimize future issues.

  • Develop alternate solutions to existing problems.

  • Accept delegated technical responsibility for a limited phase of a scientific or engineering program. Support engineers performing related phases of a program.

  • Assist in studies, development, testing and analysis of designs, processes, or procedures.

About us:

Savannah River Remediation LLC, a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site’s Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRR is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders Amentum, Bechtel, BWXT, and Jacobs. The SRR Team is responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Site’s Defense Waste Processing Facility, tank farm operations and associated production and disposal facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from an accredited college or university and 2+ years professional engineering experience

  • At least 1 year of work experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or data analysis

  • Sound technical knowledge base of discipline’s standard concepts, principles and techniques with the ability to apply formal training.

  • GPA of 2.8 or higher (please list GPA in the profile)

  • Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid problem solving and data analysis skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar data analysis programs

  • Able to communicate in a clear and professional manner with various levels of employees to include explaining technical details to a non-technical person
