Savannah River Remediation is seeking Engineers to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.
The Engineer implements solutions to mechanical, chemical, electrical and/or nuclear solutions to meet standards set by the Department of Energy (DOE) for the Savannah River Remediation (SRR) project.
Assume technical responsibility for one or more phases of a program and/or ownership for unit operations within processing facilities.
Collaborate with colleagues to provide innovative improvements to the existing processes.
Specific job responsibilities many involve the following assignments: project engineering support, facility engineering support, process flow sheet analysis and development, procurement requirements and specifications development, technical calculations and reviews, design reviews, safety analysis development, and commercial grade dedication.
Performs comprehensive engineering solutions to broadly defined and moderately complex activities.
Performs studies, development, testing and analysis of designs, processes and/or procedures as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Explores approaches and recommends improvements under moderate guidance from Manager and/or higher level engineers.
Collaborate with facility/department colleagues.
Apply training of SRR and specific department systems, methodologies and requirements for accomplishing tasks. Including but not limited to appropriate use of the proper tools and protective equipment required to complete tasks.
May provide guidance and/or informal mentoring to new engineers.
May present/explain technical information to members of team, department or facility

Savannah River Remediation LLC, a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site’s Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRR is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders Amentum, Bechtel, BWXT, and Jacobs. The SRR Team is responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Site’s Defense Waste Processing Facility, tank farm operations and associated production and disposal facilities. www.srremediation.com
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Engineering, IT/Computer Science or closely related STEM field from an accredited college or university; or
Currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Engineering, IT/Computer Science or closely related STEM field from an accredited college or university with expected graduation by June 30, 2021 (applicant must include expected graduation date on resume); or
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT/Computer Science or closely related STEM field from an accredited college or university and 2+ years professional engineering experience
Sound technical knowledge base of discipline’s standard concepts, principles and techniques with the ability to apply formal training.
GPA of 2.8 or higher (please list GPA in the profile)
Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of advanced engineering principles and practices to develop appropriate outputs.
Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a changing environment with multiple demands and priorities.
Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing
