SC Department of Public Safety Accounts Payable Specialist (2AS21) in Aiken County, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities Perform all accounts payable functions for the College to include completing payments and controlling expenses by processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for accounts payable functions for the College, which includes: reviewing invoices and documentation, entering disbursements into financial information system ensuring proper general ledger coding, and imaging accounts payable documentation for electronic file. Coordinate acceptance of all purchase orders for equipment/supplies with related departments and maintain an electronic record of transactions. * Responsible for monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date, resolve invoice discrepancies, review vendor files and report changes/updates to accounts receivable department for updates to vendor maintenance file, correspond with vendors, respond to inquiries, and produce monthly reports. * Provide general administrative support for the finance department to include, but not limited to, coordination of annual travel reports, assisting with unclaimed property reporting, and uploading required financial transparency reports. * Assist and provide support with budgeting, financial reporting and accounts receivable. * Reconcile procurement card transactions for tax compliance and post statement data to financial information system. * Other duties as assigned including but not limited to: facility scheduling, providing documentation requested by auditors, external and internal customers, preparing required vendor 1099 MISC forms, delivery of campus mail as needed and participating in College committees and activities. Minimum and Additional Requirements Associate’s degree with accounting related courses and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
